Well, I haven't been to school in forever because I've had bacterial tonsilitis, as most of you know by now. I originally wasn't going to go to Brisbane, but I caught a plane up here yesterday morning and met up with my parents.
Oh, I'm so excited. My Uncle Harry Potter is going to get married, finally! The conversation went like this:
Me: You know, you should have kids so I could wish you Happy Fathers' day today.
HP: Well, it's a bit difficult to have children when your girlfriend's in Indonesia.
Me: Are you going to get married to Sheanny?
HP: Yeah, we've been talking about it and stuff and planning it (he hasn't officially proposed yet though). We were thinking of getting married here and in Indonesia.
Aiee, it seems weird that my Uncle Harry is getting married. I just can't imagine it...but then again, I guess he is 33/34/35/whatever, and in Greek families that's quite old to get married (though my godmother got married earlier this year and she's almost/around 40 years old). Well, not really, but have you seen My Big Fat Greek Wedding? I hate that movie, it stereotypes Greeks ssoooo badly, but some bits were funny. My grandfather, however, does NOT have an obsession with Windex.
Speaking of Greek weddings...that was really the reason we decided to come up here in the first place. My Uncle Peter (well he isn't really my uncle - he's my mum's cousin) was getting married to a lady called Tara Garrett (she looked nothing like Garrett Hedlund though, thank goodness for that).
I had to sit at the 'kid' table, which meant being with my second cousins Joshua and Bianca...man they are so evil, whenever we stay at their place they give us hell. Joshua and George (another somewhat-distant relation of mine) started throwing food at me, and some got into my minestrone which spoiled it. And Bianca is just...evil. I dunno, she's just really abrupt and rude and, er, honest to the point you want to strangle her. Eeeevil.
Also, Ron Bakir was at the wedding. Yep. And my dad, being an avid hater of Schappelle Corby, kept cracking jokes all night ("Hey look, there's Mercedes! No, not Mercedes Corby, the car!"). *rolls eyes* I don't like Ron Bakir, anyway. He has, as I explained on Blake's forums, an evil businessman laugh. And he made a speech and yelled out and he sucks at Greek dancing but he acted like he owned the place (god, I'm really starting to hate that word...owned...fucking hell).
I asked my Uncle Harry if he wanted to supervise me at Manifest, knowing he likes anime and video games and all. He agreed ("..but we'll have to take the tram, 'cos my license got suspended"), yet expressed his fear of a "bunch of nerds running around yelling, 'Iieee! Tasukite (or however the hell you Romanise it)!'
It's my daddy birthday today. Yessums. He's turning 43, and last year we had those little number candles on his cake and when nobody was looking he swapped the 4 and the 2 around.
